Michael S. Brown, DIRECTOR
Master of Science, Physical Therapy (MS PT)
Michael is board-certified in Physical Therapy and specially trained in weight and fitness training.
He holds three degrees from Long Island University:

Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy

Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy

Bachelor’s Degree in Education with a concentration In Exercise Physiology
As the proprietor of Island Rehabilitation Associates, Michael is dedicated to providing the highest quality of care in a professional atmosphere.
Michael’s approach to patients includes tailoring a treatment plan that matches their goals, utilizing clinically proven techniques, and most importantly, treating them as he would his close friends or family members.
He is a well-respected member of the community and active in Rotary and the West Hempstead Chamber of Commerce. Michael is known for his infectious laugh, kindness and compassion.
Shifra
Physical Therapy (DPT)
Shifra graduated with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from NYIT in 2007.
She wanted to be a Physical Therapist since the age of 15. She started working for Island Rehabilitation Associates while still attending school.
She is well known and adored by all for her warm, personable, and compassionate personality. Shifra has earned a reputation as a caring professional with special interests in
geriatrics, orthopedics and patients with Neurological Pathologies.


Sophia
Physical Therapy (DPT)

Sophia graduated with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Quinnipiac University, 2012.
She enjoys working with a diverse population including sports medicine, orthopedics
and geriatrics.
She has earned a reputation of warmth and compassionate care among her patients at
Island Rehabilitation Associates and Mercy Medical Center, where she is also on staff.
The patients enjoy Sophia's unique sense of humor and her ability to motivate them in order to meet their maximum rehabilitation potential.
Kelly
Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy (MS OT, OTR/L)

Kelly graduated with a Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from
Scranton University in 2011.
Her interests are in working with the pediatric population in her sensory gym and therapy geared towards both the geriatric and postoperative populations.
Children respond to Kelly's warm, playful approach to therapy.
She is often seen using play therapy, including mat activities, to achieve goals and to help them master a new developmental skill.
